Rick I have a pair of TR7...one with the factory AC supply
and the other with the DC power cord for mobile and it is
quite long and very heavy gauge wire.

I have a 12v variable 50 amp supply on it and no blinking or
dimming on either transceiver.

Those silver discs are a real problem.  I need a couple my
self.

I use a large 12 volt fan on one xcvr and a 110 on the other
both move about the same amount of air.

Agree with the other folks about using AF and RF together,
both my rigs don't totally turn audio off either.
