[Drake] Multimeter Suggestions for Drake Service

Richard,

You need an analog meter for alignment work. You just can't peak IF/RF
coils and caps with a digital meter..even those with bar graph displays. A
simple Simpson 260 is a great tool as is an old HP-3400A. The HP is my
favorite for alignment work. For voltage reading and measuring resistance a
decent Fluke digital works great. I really think you need both to do the
job right.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Subject: [Drake] Multimeter Suggestions for Drake Service

I know we've been down this path before, but I don't seem to remember the
answer.

What would be a good multimeter to be used for servicing our beloved Drake
gear?

I know some with say a old school VTVM from Heahkit. Others will say buy a
Fluke.

I'm trying to get the retirement test gear in order before I have no funds
for this sort of journey.

Feel free to email me off the list, richfbell at sbcglobal.net, if you desire.
