[Drake] 2-A vrs 2-B

Hi. I have Osterman's book on shortwave radios. I am a small Drake 
collector.

I am confused: What is the difference between a 2-A and a 2-B, other 
than the time frame they were sold?????

They appear to be very similar. Any advantage having the "B" versus the 
"A"???
