Sounds like multiple problems, possible bad LSB filter and bad crystal on
40 meters. Try to do the crystal oscillator aligment on 40 per the manual.
The crystals tend to go off frequency as they age, some worse than others.
If the filter is bad you should hear a big difference in receive also,
its a common TR-4 problem.
