Hi Guys,
Having problems with my L4B. Driving with a T4XC, I've got full
output (1300-1400 watts). Signal is clean on the scope. HV and
plate current normal, but grid current pins the meter "hard" to the
left, below scale. It's also running very hot. Top is hot to the
touch, and plates are cherry, even at idle. Fan seems to be running
smoothly (was cleaned and oiled last spring). I re-built the power
supply last winter with an upgrade kit from Mike at the Heathkit Shop
(fb product) and runs cool. Also replaced the feed-thru caps in the
rf deck (a little tricky), and bleeders in the pwr supply at that
time. Shorted grid maybe? Been working fine until now. Any
thoughts before I get my hands dirty?
