According to my R7 service manual, the switching card in the R7 is 
identical to the one in the TR7, this is also my recollection from one 
of the R7 that I have owned during the years. That one had a card with 
the RFC's etc. that you describe.

Perhaps the board you mention for the R7 is a very early version of the 
switching card? What do you think?
