Well, thank you all (Chuck&Vicki, James and Garey) for the answers; I
did the maual specified adjustment method, but, the pitch is not the
same for both sideband switch positions. The difference is not huge, but
definitely audible. Although I've not made yet a detailed sweep with the
audio generator (only a simple one, and there's a definite peak at 900
Hz, falling quickly at 2100 Hz and 300 Hz), it seems that "inside" the
curve both filters are slightly different, that's why the audible hiss
is not the same.
Besides, Tx reports shows a slight difference between Lsb and Usb.
My post was mainly about the possibility to use a "better" method for
this adjustment, and thought about the two tones one, like in the final
adjust of carrier position in the Kenwood Ts-440, to mention one. You
inject two audio tones and adjust oscillator trimmers to achieve a
defined pattern at the output with the oscilloscope.
But in this case I have only one adjustment so if I tweak on side for
good, the opposite most probably would not be ok.
I'll stay with the TR4's manual method.
Thank you very much again.
Best regards
Guillermo - LU8EYW.
