[Drake] Trials and tribulations

Ken,

Besides my front panel tilting method, I always use the lone hold down
screw standoff as my guide to proper placement of the board before
applying pressure down. So with the front tilted out of the way I can
visually line up that screw hole. I take note that the board is square
with the side walls around the sides of it and it is normally a simple
insertion. I always make sure the pins are all straight before hand. I
do recall that one of the white connection blocks was a bit sloppy on
one of the boards which allowed it to move back and forth a little bit.
I ended up wedging a small piece of plastic between that connector and
the board to make it stable.

Connectivity wise, those white pin Molex style connections are very
reliable. Compared to so much of the equipment made in the late 70's
which turned out to be real maintenance nightmares in later years.
