John -
I have never been able to get an "International" brand 6JB6 to work in a
transmitter. They probably work just fine at 15 kHz, but not much higher!
Don't know about the Lafayette brand. RCAs work fine.
I stick with Sylvania, Zenith (apparently made by Sylvania, judging by
their construction,) RCA and last choice GE. The RCA and GE work ok,
but seem to lose their "newness" (~10% reduction in output power) much
faster than the Sylvania/Zenith.
Westinghouse and Raytheon tubes also do NOT work.
