Definitely not good Windy, definitely a weak link in the radio. Last time I 
had a knob break on something else was 20 years ago on my crappola-built 
Plymouth.

I repaired one of the knobs on my R4C once by using some good grade epoxy 
(might have been JB weld) and clamping the two halves together while it 
cured over night. Usually the longer the set time the better the bond 
strength so stay away from the 5 minute stuff. I also used a little bit of 
acetone on a Q-tip to wipe away the excess from the seam after it was 
clamped.

The repair was virtually invisible and strong, but to help the knob out I 
swapped it with another knobs location on the radio so that the repaired 
knob  didn't go back on a "high-torque" control like the bandswitch, but 
rather on the something like the volume control. Been good for a couple of 
years now. Oh, and don't over tighten the set screws!
