[Drake] SSR-1 Question

The SSR is a  nice little radio, I have two of them. They are great  for what 
they were designed for a portable SWL radio and I use mine in the field  as 
well as next to me on the end table while sitting in the easy chair.   They 
work well on the internal antenna but tend to overload on a big  antenna.  
Depending on what dollars you put into it on ebay will probably  determine the limit 
on  repair dollars.  Repair is straight forward  with no critical componets, 
the only qualifier being if someone has tried to  modify it.  Damaged boards 
from leaky batteries will nullify repair as the  battery acid will damage the 
boards beyound repair and replacement boards are  not available from any source 
I know of.  Hope you decide to repair  it.
