The TR-7A is merely a "late" (approximately s/n 11,000 and up) TR-7 with 
the (previously) "optional" Noise Blanker, CW filter, pseudo AM filter 
along with a rear panel mike input and a gas discharge surge protector 
on the antenna input.

Toward the end of Drake's support for their Ham gear, they sold the 
plastic front panel strip with the "TR-7A" logo as a repair part.  So 
there are "counterfeit" "A" versions out there,  so before you pay a 
premium for an "A", check the description at >
