[Drake] I have seen all sorts of fan placement on the B and C line

One OM I know said to me...hey the noiseless DC brushless fans are so cheap  
now, why experiment.
 
  He has the standard fan on the back. He also swears by having a fan  on top 
of the rig.
 
Go to any radio shack. I bought a huge 6" diagonal fan. It is 3X the size  of 
the FA-7 on my Drake TR-7. I wanted more cooling for my 2KW amp. The one in  
there is very whimpy.
So I have this fan right above the dual 3-500Z's on the cabinat. It is in  
the blow out mode.
 
  The air leaving is very hot. I would like to think my dual fan  config. 
will get me 5000 hours out of the original eimacs.
 
  The electricly DC noiseless fans cost 15-25 DOLLARS. New set of  tubes $275.
One could get ultra fancy. put in a TE cooler and heatsink in the path of  
the hot air.
An airconditioned Amp, why not!
