Time for me to dig out the manual. But as I do so, I shall also pose
the question here. Someone might save me some time, and that would be
neat.
Noticed this evening when I was on 20 CW, that the R4B was hearing the
T4XB CW signal even in mute. Yes, the mute is working, but not muting
all it should? The signal heard is fairly strong, and is tuneable, so
it means it is getting into the R4B somewhere after the front end, but
not just in the audio chain. I have noticed for some months a very
weak audio (NOT the sidetone!) in the receiver when I was in Tune with
the T4XB. Not a problem in sideband or CW at the time. This is the
first time I've heard it so loud. It does get much louder, though, if I
put the RX in "ON" instead of "MUTE" as that kicks in the rx's front
end. Haven't tried it with this new development on sideband,
Whoops! Just tried it again and it is all working normally - full mute,
no sound from the rx speaker. A problem that has fixed itself. Tried
it in both separate and RX as control, and it works. Also the very weak
audio signal heard in the past is not present either. Something
intermittent.
Any thoughts?
