Sorry.... Could not resist that....


Jumper a known good capacitor across the suspected bad cap... The hum will 
go down considerably when you find the defective cap.

Just remember to observe the proper polarity, voltage rating and keep the 
capacitance somewhat in the ballpark. Even a much lower capacitance value 
will work fine for testing.
