[Drake] T4XB face plate deterioration

I looked at my T4XB last night, and gasp as I noticed what I think is
aluminum deterioration from oxidation. It has some very find "lines" of
what looks like the "white rust" that old aluminum gets. I hope some one
understands what I am talking about. The pitting groves that grow in old
aluminum.

What can I do to stop the progression of this? I am guessing some type of
sealing, like wax, or something. I have seen this often on older Knight
kits, but this is the first time I have ever seen anything like this on a
Drake. It is around the very outer edge of the faceplate.

73,
Ron
