[Drake] Help:TR7

I am getting ready to try and get a TR7 working. The symptoms
are as follows.
It is open to noise when the antenna is attached
The display reads abt 17xx.xx and then proceeds to slowly count up but
on the 2 highest bans the display starts abt 16xxx.xx  and again it starts
to count up.
I do have extra modules to try to get it going but a clue as to where to
start wud be greatly appreciated. Mny tnx in advance
