Isolated the problem with the leaking hum/buzz.  All is very clean and 
sounds excellent.

If there is any interest, I am considering providing prefabricated, 
wired/tested modification boards for the R-4C.  These will include a 
replacement audio amp board, product detector board, and power supply 
board.  All mod boards will be accompanied with installation 
instructions, etc. Just drop me an e-mail if interested.  These will be 
very similar to the K4ZS and some public domain R-4C mods.  The end 
result is a super quiet rig with clean audio response, less dissipated 
heat, and less power consumption.  I will not accept rigs for 
installation, just offering pre-built mod boards ready to install by the 
user.
