[Drake] C Line Transceive on 30 meters?

Is anyone using their R-4C and T-4XC on 30 meters?  What crystals work best?

I tried 21.1 mhz crystals for the 10.0-10.5 range. Receiver works fine, but 
if I try to transceive it's transmitting on some unknown frequency - the swr 
is off the meter.  If I use them set to 'separate' seems to be ok.
