You can check most electrolytics with an ESR meter. I THINK they work by 
pulsing an AC signal through the cap, and converting the results to a DC 
meter reading of ohms vs capacitance with green/yellow/red ranges. I got 
one recently that was over-priced (definitely made in Taiwan or China-and 
certainly not by their best craftsmen) considering the REALLY poor 
quality... BUT it works like a million bux, and I guess that's the bottom 
line, isn't it?!!!
