[Drake] R4C

I have just aquired a R4C ser #18050 which is in beautiful shape =
cosmetically but not too lively.(calibrate only produces S5 sig on 80m)
On testing the tubes I discovered that they are some differences from =
the manual .It uses 6HS6 instead of 6EJ7 and 6BZ6 in place of 6BE6. The =
sockets are marked for these tubes ,so they are original. This must be a =
very early model.
When used in trancieve mode with the T4XC being in control the recieved =
signal strength is about double what it is when the R4C is controling.
Any ideas on this ???
