You're right Andy....it was so obvious that I didn't bother to mention
it!!

If you are going to use this method (voltage drop across cathode
resistors) to match tubes, make sure you measure the resistance of each
cathode resistor so you can calculate the actual value of current. A
similar voltage drop across dissimilar resistances doesn't mean the
current is the same through each resistor. This is probably obvious but
it might not be during the rush to get a rig back on the air.

I used the cathode method in a TR-4CW. The tube tester probably would
work but I would rather match em' where I use em'. Measure the voltage
drop across the cathode resistor for each tube. You really must have a
digital readout voltmeter for this because you will need to read the
voltage in 'tenths' of a volt.

Dear group,
I have seen several folks mention that Drake finals can be matched using
a good tube tester like a 6000A or TV. I have also heard that Drake
used to match their finals with a testing setup that used the same plate
& screen voltages, bias, etc. as a working rig, by measuring the cathode
current. Does anyone have an opinion?
Thanks for your time
