According to the Chicago Miniature Lamp Incorporated's "Design
Engineers Databook," the #12 lamp, which they call the CM12 is
a G-3, Miniature 2-pin base lamp rated at 6.3 volts and 0.15
amps.

If you unsolder and remove the base of an ordinary #47 lamp
and solder the fine wires to two short pieces of #18 gauge
wire, you should have a suitable replacement. If you want
something a little more substantial, use a short piece of a
standard PC board header to solder the fine wires to. The
leads are 0.20 inches apart and are 40 mils in diameter. The
#47 (CM47) is one of the most commonly available miniature
bulbs around. It is rated at 6.3 volts and 0.15 amps, the
same as the #12.
