And here is another 'family' you might want to be careful of doing business 
with.

wa0ens is the ebay id used to sell a Drake L-4B.  The ad stated:

This item is a Drake l4B linear amplifier which was purchased new for my 
wife in 1975. It has seen limited use over the years. We moved location in 
1984 and the linear has not been used since that time. New final tubes were 
installed and the linear alligned by a ham friend in 1995.

The date codes on the tubes were 4180 and 2765.  One of the "NEW FINALS" 
installed in 1995 is about 10 years older than the amplifier is according to 
its serial number.  And the filament is open. And zapped diodes in the power 
supply. Repeated emails and phone calls have gone unanswered.

Shame on me for buying this against my better judgement. The "aligned by a 
ham friend" and the fact this seller had zero feedback and shades made me 
leery so I drove 7 hours to pick it up.  After many hours of 
cleaning/restoration/repair it looks and works like new, but all the 
cleaning in the world isn't going to make those tubes any good :)
