I recently acquired an L-4B that has spent at least the last 15 years
residing in a chicken coop. A nastier specimen I have never seen. It
cleaned up real well, and after getting the power supply to work (I new it
must have problems since it "rattled" when moving it) I find one of the
tubes doesn't light up. (Not surprised.)
Does anyone know how to interpret the "date codes" scratched into the tube?
One of mine says 4180 (it lights up) and the other one says 2765. It has a
red phenolic disc between the bottom of the tube and the pins, the other
doesn't.
There are two other tubes available with 'codes' of R8 8528 and R8 8915.
Both of these have the red phenolic discs.
Any input would be appreciated.
