Subject: [Drake] Caig Deoxit/2A

I have heard so much about this product that I finally bought some. It's as
good as everyone says, however there is some concern with swelling of
wafers, etc.

My question concerns the pre-selector on my 2A. It's quite noisy and even
intermittent. Can I safely use Deoxit??

While I'm on the subject, I must begin to remove some oxidation from the
copper chassis. I don't suppose anyone has an "easy" way to do it.

Thanks
Larry, N1SHM

Yes, Larry, use the DeOxit on your 2A, but use it sparingly. I apply it
only in a drop at a time with an insulin syringe directly on each contact
wiper then put a drop in each tube socket pin while I'm at it. Spraying the
switch isn't recommended, but I've not had any swelling problems using the
syringe. Others recommend using a toothpick to place a drop where you want,
or anything similar. Not sure what to recommend on the copper. I choose to
leave it alone and only clean areas that need to be a good ground.

Subject: [Drake] WTB: R4A or R4B

Good morning.

Looking for a mint, or excellent, or very good Drake R4A or R4B hf
receiver for regular use as part of my amateur station.

Must work perfectly out of the box - no bad hums, no low sensitivity, no
fixer uppers.

Immaculate chassis, nice cabinet, orignal manual, original boxes, spare
tubes all a plus.

Please let me know if you have a candidate,

Subject: [Drake] Drake L-4 $485 shipped

I have a great Drake L-4 with a pair of Eimac 3-500zs. Covers 80-10 and
loads up to full out on 17 and 12 just fine. ~ 1200 watts out or so
depending on band wired for 120. Standby switch added to the lower right
corner front panel but looks stock. Works 100% perfect in every way.
Currently wired for 120vac. Will ship in three seperate cartons via UPS
ground (tubes, PS, rf deck). $485 delivered lower 48.
