[Drake] Need Tech Help w/ Drake 2C

Dear Fellow Drake enthusiasts,

I recently purchased a beautiful Drake 2C which has a
problem.  First off, I am pretty much technically
challenged, so I am hoping perhaps any help suggestions
will be pretty much straightforward, hi.

The symptoms:

75/80 Meters...receiver is as hot as can be.  Signals loud, sharp and
clear on SSB and CW. The preselector peaks signals in the correct areas
on the scale.

40-10 Meters...No signals in the specified preselector band/frequency
ranges, however when tuning with the preselector, I am able to hear
hetrodynes and an occasional SW broadcast station on at least some of
the bands.

One additional interesting note is that on at least 40 and I believe
also on 20, I am able to hear signals from the 75/80 meter band...this
is especially true if I have just been listening on 75 SSB (a strong
signal), when I change bands, I really can hear the 75 meter signal,
perhaps at half strength.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  I'd like
to get this 2C working properly so it can accompany my lonesome 2NT.
