Until I was introduced to these reflectorsand bring, what I missed most =
about Ham radio was Tubes and experimenting. I install, repair, retofi=
t and trouble shoot microprocessors and chaa\hanve everyday and it would =
be the last damn thing I'd want to play with on weekends. Slow down folk=
s, because right now, I'm getting slammed by the Southeast Asia, micorpro=
cessing group of Hams, that think I should have gone down with the Titan=
ic I didn't even get from Novice to General, before the local club had a=
club project of knocking of a HA-10. It worked well and I wish Iad it t=
o this day. When we sit down and accept that fact that we all have our p=
references. Take care and may God lell you all..

Interesting opinions Bill but, or course, only opinions. That's one of t=
he
things that makes this Amateur Radio hobby so interesting. We can all en=
joy
the activities in our own way as a "hobby."
I have Drake and Collins gear in excellent condition that is close enough=
to
original to call "restored." I have Drake and Collins gear I have update=
d
with modern components such as caps. And I have Drake and Collins gear I
chose to significantly modify, usually for improved cw performance. In a=
ll
cases, the way I chose to handle the equipment was exactly right for me a=
nd
my hobby interests.
Restore, modify, repair, leave original........whatever. It's a hobby an=
d
we'll all tinker as we will.
