I have had this problem on two different TR7s. What worked for me in both
cases is a thorough cleaning of all the switches (including all the wafer
switches on the band switch) and I pulling and cleaned the digital readout
board. I used a spray electrical contact cleaner (environmentally friendly
of course) and then let the TR7 dry for at least 24 hours. I find that if I
do that about once a year it usually precludes these types of problems from
recurring. Additionally, I stopped smoking in the radio room. Good luck!

service manual and I am quite technical and has many test equipments. I
posted this before but I did not get sufficient responses. Thanks in
advance.
