[Drake] TR-6 with external VFO

Hi all, I have a question for this group. I have several Drake set-ups. Even
though I also have more modern 50 MhZ equipment, my favorite is still my
beloved TR-6. I use an external VFO which is a RV-4. Before I packed all my
equipment away for the impending move to Florida, I recapped my AC-4 power
supply. The last time I used the TR-6, I noticed that the 'noise floor' was
quite a bit more with the RV-4. The sensitivity is the same, the level of
background noise increases right along with the recieved signal. I did not
notice this before the recapping.
Is there a method of setting the osc. level so that the RV-4 and TR-6 will
sound the same?
Unfortunatly, all the radios are in storage along with all the schematics,
etc. I won't be able to do any testing until November or December.
I have never noticed this on several TR4-C / RV4-C combos, which I recapped.

thanks in advance!
