It is a nice looking unit sitting up next to an R-7/TR-7 combo (even
though the UV-3 actually came out several years before the TR-7/R-7,
they are styled kind of similarly).  It's also one of the best 220 MHz
FM rigs out there.  I have the PS-3 (matching power supply) and added a
PL tone generator to mine.  Now, it's a pretty useful rig, especially on
220 MHz.  Have fun, and get the service manual copies.   Let us know how
things turn out!

I guess I will check with the manual people and see if I can purchase a
service manual. I really like the styling of the unit and intend to try
{within reason} to get it working on all three bands.
