Hello from Vienna !

The problems I mentioned in my help email

1.) The line transformer get very warm
2.) If I switch to the noise blanker or to CALibrate, the receiver "mutes"
3.) On 10 meter band if I tune the preselector I don't get a maximum of
noise

are solved (better to say there where no problems).

Let me thank all who helped me !!! Great group !

A member of the group fired up his R4A and the transformer get as warm as
mine. So I switched on all my Drakes (R4, R4A, R4B and R4C) and all of them
had the same temperature of the line transformer as the R4A. I use exact 115
V AC as supply. So this seems to be ok; the 3 "old " ones I have are
recapped.

The Noiseblanker and Calibrator are working ok; I have'nt read the manual
exact (could not await to try the new one, hi). I had no RCA 'shorting plug'
in the "MUTE" connector on the rear of the receiver.

10 meters is working well when the band is open, only I get no maximum noise
when no antenna is connected.

So I'm happy - I got a good one ! I have put some pictures on my webpage
under the link "Receicers -- Drake. But the page loads slowly today. If you
are interested to take a look at the Drakes, use:

BTW thanks to Charles Leidner K4QZO ( [email protected] ), I bought this
receiver from him. He sent me what he promised. A really nice rig.

Again many thanks to all of you for your quick help !

TIA de Kurt.
