[Drake] Need R4C help

My R4C decided to bite the dust last night.  I leave it on all the time but
in standby mode when not in actual operation.  It suddenly decided to start
playing a very loud buzzing sound in the speaker even though it is kept in
the standby position when not in actual use.

I have opened it up and see no crispy critters but have not measured
voltages yet.  Power supply is definite suspect.  I seem to remember this
having been discussed on the reflector before and the suggestions were not
the power supply.  This 17K serial number has had no mods done so still has
the original power supply and audio amp.

Can anyone give me any pointers to watch for?
