Hello All
I've seen quite a few supposed TR-7A's for sale lately and I have a question=
=20
on how to identify a "true TR-7A".... I have three TR-7A's and the supplemen=
t=20
sheet that came with them states that the upgrades Drake made to the "A"=20
model were as follows:
1) Noise blanker added as standard=20
2) SL-500 filter added as standard
3) Selectivity "B" adapted for 9KHz AM reception
4) Surge protection added to receive antenna input
5) Phono jack input at the rear panel labeled "TX" has been added to provide=
=A0=20
=A0=A0=A0 transmitter audio input from sources other than microphone
6) TR-7A strip added to front panel
Now here's my question.... I know any of the above could be added easily to=20
the radio and Drake sold the front panel strips so to take a TR-7 and make i=
t=20
look like a real TR-7A is fairly easy.... All my TR-7A's have the above item=
s=20
done to them and all have serial numbers above 10,9XX plus two were bought=20
from Drake direct so I am certain they are true TR-7A's.... Several of the=20
ones I've seen for sale lately do not have the TX phono jack added to the=20
back panel.... Does anyone know of a true TR-7A that does not have this adde=
d=20
jack? .... Just curious.
