Variac, Doublet Antenna, Antenna Analyzer, Antenna Tuners,
Shure Microphone, Headphones, Power Supplies, SWR Bridge,
Phone Patches, Radio Handbooks and more For Sale:
Powerstat (Variac) Variable Autotransformer:
We all call these Variacs, but this one is made by Powerstat.
It is their model 21, rated at 3.75 amps, 530 va, up to 140
volts AC.
This one is housed in a nice grey hammertone box, with a line
cord in, power switch, and binding posts for output. Of course
it also has the large (about 5 inch) knob, with the graduated
scale on it.
This would be ideal for bringing some of the older rigs up
to power slowly.
This one is in very nice condition, for $40. It can ship
in a postal service "flat rate box."
Doublet Antenna :
Doublet antenna consisting of about 110 feet of wire, with
center insulator, 2 end insulators, and 2 center supporting
insulators. This antenna is made to be fed with "open wire"
450 ohm transmission line, and used with an antenna tuner.
It should be able to tune from 80 thru 10 meters, with the
proper tuner. $20
MFJ 207 HF Antenna Analyzer:
The MFJ-207 10-160 Meter Antenna SWR Analyzer gives you a
direct readout of your antennas SWR without the need for
formulas or indirect readings. The MFJ-207 can also be used
to adjust a tuner to match your antenna without the need
for transmitting. Its frequency coverage is approximately
from 1.75 MHz to 30 MHz in five bands.
The bands and coverage are approximately:
BAND A: 1.75 - 3.00 MHz
BAND B: 3.00 - 5.00 MHz
BAND C: 6.50 - 11.70 MHz
BAND D: 11.65 - 20.00 MHz
BAND E: 18.00 - 30.00 MHz
The MFJ-207 uses a 9V battery or 110VAC from a wall wart
power supply.
This one works fine, and looks fine. It is in its original box,
with paper work for $60.
Wall Wart power supply for use with the MFJ 207. $12
Buy both of the above for $70.
MFJ 989, 3000 Watt rated, HF Antenna Tuner:
The 3 KW MFJ-989 features two massive transmitting capacitors
and a roller inductor with a three digit counter. You won't
have arcing problems with this roller inductor, because firm
springs put considerable pressure on a plated contact wheel.
You can tune your SWR down to the absolute minimum from 1.8
to 30 MHz, including MARS and the WARC bands. It has a super
heavy duty balun for balanced lines.
You can select two coax antennas direct or through the
tuner, balanced line or random wire, plus a built-in 50
ohm 300 watt dummy load. A wattmeter is also included.
This one works fine, and looks good, although there is
some slight wear. The meter light has burned out. Paper
work included for $175.
TenTec 229 HF antenna tuner:
This roller inductor tuner will handle full legal power.
It uses an "L" match instead of a "T" match, which means
there is only one spot that will give the correct match.
The "L" match is also more efficient. Electrically, it is
the same as the 238 series, 229 A, 229 B, and 4229.
There is also a built in wattmeter with full scale reading
of 200 and 2000 watts. It also has an SWR bridge with
lighted meter, plus a 4 position antenna switch.
It can be used on any HF frequency, including the WARC
bands, as it is continuously adjustable. It has a built
in internal balun, so open wire can be used.
Cosmetically, this unit is the color of the earlier Omni
series (Omni 546, series A, B, and C) with the black vinyl
covering, and nice aluminum trim around the front.
This particular unit functions 100%, and looks perfect.
I can not find a scratch on it.
Paper work is included for $325.
Shure EM-33D, controlled magnetic hand microphone:
The Shure EM-33D was used by GE on many of their rigs.
This mic has a controlled magnetic cartridge, similar to
the Shure 444 desk microphone, but this one is a hand mic.
Apparently it is tailored for voice communications "punch"
like the 444's.
This one works fine and looks OK, although it does show some
use. It presently has a 1/4 inch stereo connector on it as
used by early TenTec, Swan, and many others.
The cartridge alone is worth $40. Buy this entire mic for
$40.
Kenwood HS-4 Communications Headphones:
The Kenwood HS-4 is a set of headphones that completely
cover the ear to block out extraneous noise. They are
designed for communications effectiveness, and have an
8 ohm impedance to match most any rig. Of course these
are mono headphones and not stereo.
They have a standard 1/4 inch plug.
These work fine and look very good as well. No rips or
tears in the headphone covers. $30
Kepco Variable Bench Power Supply:
This is an ideal bench power supply! It is a Kepco Model ABC
40-0.5, which means that it will produce from zero up to 40 V
DC at up to 1/2 amp. Great for the bench.
The voltage is adjustable with a 10 turn pot from close to zero,
up to about 40 volts. There is a fairly large analog meter that
reads the voltage. There is also current limiting built in that
is adjustable from about 100 ma to up to about 700 ma. The same
meter that reads voltage can be switched to read current, or
short circuit current (the point that the current limit is set).
In addition, there are connections on the back to allow remote
sensing and remote programming. This is a quality regulated
power supply!
This particular unit works 100%, and looks extremely nice.
These normally sell for $125 to $150 (plus shipping).
Buy this one for $90.
Radio Shack 22-124 Regulated Power Supply
This supply is regulated and will furnish 13 V DC at up
to 2.5 amps. It works fine and looks extremely nice.
I do not find a scratch on it. $20
Olson RA-472 Bench Type Power Supply
This power supply is suitable for low current bench use.
It provides a variable voltage source from about 5 V DC
up to about 15 V DC. It has one knob for course voltage
that is labeled 6 V, 9 V and 12 V. An additional knob
will fine tune the voltage. I do not have specs on this
supply, but I would guess that it is good for maybe 1/3
to 1/2 amp current. It has an analog meter that seems
to be fairly accurate; at least it compares favorably
to my lab type DMM.
This unit is is a utility type power supply. $15
Heath HM-15 SWR Bridge:
This is an HF SWR Bridge, with SO-239 connectors on
the back. The front has the meter on the left, and two
knobs to the right. It is the same size as the HD-15
phone patch.
This one works fine and is in nice cosmetic shape.
I can not find a scratch on it.
Paper work included for $20.
Heath HD-15 phone patch / digital interface:
This unit can be used to interface a sound card in a
PC to your transceiver. It was originally designed to
be used as a phone patch, but many have converted them
to a digital interface.
This is the unit with the VU meter on the left and 3 knobs
that match the SB series to the middle and right. Low or
high Z output to the transmitter. The meter makes it great
for setting levels.-This one is all original. It is in great condition.
Paper work included for $22.
I also have parts from a Heath HD-15 phone patch available.
This includes an audio transformer used for digital
interfacing, VU meter, and other parts. Outer cover and
knobs are gone. What do you need?
Waters "Universal Hybrid Coupler II" Model 3002:
Most of us would likely call this a phone patch, but it
is really much more than that. It does that, but also
will interface with a tape recorder, and permit recording
and play back of on-the-air QSOs. Nothing says that the
tape recorder input/output must be used that way. Connect
the sound card in your computer in this position, and you
have a very effective interface.
Model 3002 includes a speech compressor powered by a 9
volt battery. The front panel is finished on both
sides, with one side having it set in a horizontal
position, and the other in a vertical position.
This was a "top of the line" unit years ago. One only
found them with top stations such as Collins.
This particular unit is in really great condition.
With paper work for $100.
Editors and Engineers Radio Handbooks:
This is the Radio Handbook that was edited by Bill Orr,
W6SAI and includes a lot of very valuable information.
Two different editions are available. Both are hard bound.
1967 - 17th edition - 850 pages - close to new - $15
1987 - 23rd edition - like new, w/name on inside cover - $20
I also have many other accessories available such as many
different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs, HF
and VHF/UHF antennas, etc.
Just too many to list here. Please e-mail your requests.
Prices do not include shipping from Florida.
Thanks.
