Variac Powerstat for sale:

Powerstat by Superior Electric
This is usually generically called a Variac, but this one is
made by Superior Electric, instead of the Variac Company.

This unit is a variable autotransformer. It is used only on AC.
An input of 120 V AC is applied, and the large knob is turned
to produce an AC output voltage from 0 up to 140 Volts. It is
often used to slowly bring the voltage up on rigs that have been
in storage for a long time, and might have bad capacitors, or
capacitors that need to be reformed.

This one is good for up to 7.5 amps which is an ideal rating for
most ham purposes. Actually, it could be used to slowly bring
even linear amplifiers up to voltage, provided the variac is
removed before actual use.

This one includes the large control knob, works fine and is
mounted on a metal panel.

$40 plus shipping from Florida.

Thanks.

73,

Ken, W8EK
