The guy who started Dentron was named Denny but I forget his last name.
He used to do many ads in the ham magazines a lot in the 1970s for his
linear amplifiers
and antenna tuners, dummy loads etc.
Some of their amplifier designs were not the greatest, but were design
for low production costs.
For example, the tank coils in some of them used a toroid coil which is
a smaller, but more lossy design
when compared to a conventional air wound tank coil in the PI network.
The company was also distinguished in that they put nice religious
greetings in the ham mags around
the time of the Christmas Holiday every year.
Interesting company. Does anyone know what year they shut down or was
the company absorbed
by MFJ like everything else?
