Hello all,
The email, attached below, came from Bob yesterday, and has mighty fine news!

Hello, everyone!
Well, I'm batting 3 out of three this month:
1) The cardiologist say my heart is ticking along just fine and I'm managing
my blood pressure just right by adjusting my medication dosage to counteract
the effects of the new cancer drug.
2) The neurosurgeon reviewed the latest brain MRI and found NO new brain
mets! So, now I've gone 6 months since the Cyberknife with no new brain
involvement - so cool!
3) I saw the orthopedic surgeon today. He reviewed my latest X-Rays of the
pelvis, and gave me the Radiologist's report from my latest pelvis MRI. They
both concluded that I DON'T have cancer mets in my pelvis. What I do have is
two stress fractures! I have no idea how I did that. I'll take stress
fractures over cancer anytime :)
Monday I go back to the hospital to get an infusion/IV of Zometa which will
start to put calcium back into my bones. Then I have (yet another!)
prescription called Fosamax that supposedly will do the same thing long
term.
Finally, I ran out of my diabetes meds a week ago and didn't renew them in
time to get refills right away. By the second day without the meds I felt
much better. Not so tired, brain not so fuzzy, not quite so weak. My blood
sugar has been so stable for so long that I don't test my blood sugar
frequently. I suspect that losing 70 pounds and only eating one meal a day
has been making me hypoglycemic. So I've reduced my Glucophage dosage and
I'm feeling better. I actually rode my bicycle 5.5 miles on Thursday! I need
to get new test strips so I can check to see exactly what is happening but I
sure feel better compared to the last two months!
Cheers,
Dad / Bob / Grandpa Bob
