Here are a few programs being offered during Oct.
Sussex County RACES presents Lightning Protection for the Amateur
Station.
The evening of October 14th, at 7:30 PM, Ron Block, of WR Block
Associates, will present a program on Lightning Protection for the
Amateur Station. Ron is a consultant on lightning protection, and a
representative for PolyPhaser, a worldwide producer of lightning
protection products, with four million units installed in 70 countries.
Ron is the brother of the founder of PolyPhaser, Roger Block, and also a
Radio Amateur, NR2B. He is well known to many in the radio amateur
community through his publications and as chairman of the Amateur Radio
Station Grounding Forum at the annual Dayton Hamvention.
Over the coming year, the Sussex County Radio Amateur Civil Emergency
Service (RACES), will offer a series of programs for all interested Radio
Amateurs on the theme of Survivability. The programs are free and
offered on the second Thursday evening of the month, through the coming
year. Programs will be presented in the Training Room of the Sussex
County EOC, located adjacent to the airport in Georgetown.
8R1DB, 6 Meter Dxpedition to Guyana
N3DB, Dave Craig will give a presentation on his 6 Meter Dxpedition to
Guyana during the Oct meeting for the Delmarva Amateur Radio Club. Our
monthly meetings are held at Clear Channel Broadcast Studios in the
K-Mart shopping plaza, Salisbury MD. The meeting is open to all amateurs
and will begin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 27.
