The Sussex County Hamfest and ARRL Delaware State Convention will be held
on April 4, 2009 at Sussex Technical High School, 17099 County Seat
Highway (Rt. 9), Georgetown, DE 19947.
This 5th annual communications and electronics expo is the largest event
of its kind in Delaware. It is sponsored by the amateur radio club
station of Sussex Technical High School, and Sussex Amateur Radio
Association. Doors open at 7 am.
A variety of amateur radio clubs, local businesses, and agencies will be
represented.
Major vendors include electronic parts and equipment businesses: Eagle 1
Communications, Satellite Headquarters, Quicksilver Radio Products, and
Cedar City Sales, and Delmarva Two-Way, Inc, who is also a sponsor.
Join our keynote speaker, Riley Hollingsworth, amateur call sign K4ZDH,
as he shares highlights and reflections of his ten years as the FCCs top
enforcer for Amateur Radio.
Norm Fusaro, W3IZ, is the ARRL expert on the Logbook of the World (LoTW)
system. Norm will explain how LoTW works as a repository of log records
submitted by users from around the world.
Gene Zimmerman, W3ZZ, is a recognized expert on ham radio VHF and UHF
operations. Attend Genes seminar and find out how to work distant
stations without the use of a repeater.
Frank Filipkowski, AD3M, Delaware Section Manager will present an update
on the latest news from ARRL Headquarters, Atlantic Division, and our
Delaware Section. Frank will be joined by Bill Edgar, N3LLR, and/or Tom
Abernathy, W3TOM, Atlantic Division Vice Director.
The Delaware Amateur Radio Testing Team will hold an exam session for all
levels of Amateur Radio Licenses. Don't forget to bring a photo
identification card, FCC Amateur License or Certificate of Successful
Completion as proof of passing previous amateur exams.
