To members and those on record from last year of the Delmarva Amateur Radio
Club, Inc.;
This is to inform you or the status of the 146.22/82 repeater if you have
not already been informed.
The repeater is presently operating in a slightly degraded condition as the
antenna pattern is now somewhat distorted from the original pattern causing
notable problems accessing the repeater especially from the Crisfield area.
Rod Eikenberry (N3KNT) was notified by WMDT prior to the last board meeting
(February 22, 2006) that our antenna was leaning sideways on their tower.
Rod had a tower crew dispatched and the antenna inspected on February 21.
It was found that the top support bracket on the antenna had broken and the
antenna had bent over in the wind. The tower crew was reluctant to
straighten the antenna as they thought the mast (integral part of antenna)
would snap and therefore secured the antenna with a rope until a new antenna
can be acquired. The board is now in the process of selecting a new
antenna for installation in the near future.
Any questions or comments can be addressed back through this reflector (text
only - no HTML) or directly to any of the board members.
