License Exam Quiz #299
de Steve, AE8AT
Joseph Henry was born 17 December 1797 in Albany, NY. They were so poor he was not able to attend the Albany Academy until he was 21 years old. He did ok, becoming the first secretary of the Smithsonian. He did technical work in electromagnetism, and contributed to the development of the telegraph. His relationship with Samuel Morse would sour because Morse was assisted by Dr. Leonard Gale who relied on Henry’s work to improve the design. That’s a long way of saying this quiz topic is CW!
