To all,
I was the tower installer for the Dayton VA. That said I have not actively participated with much of anything since we completed the initial install. Other Work related project just keep coming.Since we are in Florida 5 months per year it would be best to find another ham to run the show there.John Mathis, WA5FAC (540) 797-1070 is on staff at the Dayton VA and should still be available to assist.

I am walking into this cold and ignorant. According to the VA volunteer services the VA Ham Club members moved on after the plandemic. I have no idea who Jim Simpson is or if he is even in this thread.
The presentation last Thursday (DARA) by Chuck stirred the pot for more information. If Simpson is available it would probably be better if he took the lead. In the meantime I can look up the physician that checks in on it once a month and see what needs to be done. Maybe get some pictures next time I am out there. Inside and out.
Stay Safe,
Brad

Brad, if I recall correctly DARA put in the radio equipment and tower. I seem to recall Jim Simpson was involved with the install. Jim

Follow-up to the follow-up which I thought I sent to DARA.
I just talked with the VA Emergency coordinator. He just started the process of looking for some HAM volunteers to run the VAMC Ham Club shack thing. Currently one of the doctors goes in the shack once a month to check the equipment. The shack has been idle since 2019, volunteer wise. The coordinator did say the High Frequency antenna need a mast clamp replaced.
Hi, Brad:
So, it is not known to me who the 'VA Emergency coordinator' is.
Apparently, Jim Simpson KF8J is not the 'VA Emergency coordinator'.
I visited a VAMC Ham Club once during the activity of the tower install.
At that time It seemed to me that its mission was more a diversion for VA patients than an emergency communications command center.
I hope these posts about the Veterans Administration Medical Center Ham Club will produce some information
about its mission and leadership over the next few months.

Is the VA Ham Club radio room in this picture?
