Things this week:
TNG – WE NEED SELLERS
TNGFest – Oct 13TH
This week there will not be a ZOOM meeting.
WE NEED SELLERS. Even if you only have a few things, bring them.
The fest portion of this will be from 7pm till 8:00 - 8:30 depending on the activity. After that we will begin our auction portion of the event. DISCLAIMER – none of us are auctioneers so it will be a gentleman’s event – no fighting.
If you are going to be selling PLEASE email me, [email protected] , ASAP. So, I can plan on how much table space to devote to the fest.
We have no idea how many of you are wanting to sell stuff, nor do we know how many buyers will be there. PLEASE limit the number of items you are bringing to what would fit on one of the tables.
If you are bringing heavy stuff – bring a pad to protect the tables.
You will be responsible for damage to the tables.
Everything you bring MUST be sold, given away or trashed. There is limited trash bins space at
The clubhouse, so you may have to take it back home.
DO NOT bring anything you are not willing to take back home.
PLEASE do not arrive before 6:30 P.M. to set up. The tables have to be rearranged BEFORE the event.
If you are NOT selling, PLEASE do not show up until 7pm. As always you can work on your projects, radios or just chat with friends. There are a lot of different groups all doing their thing with different radios. Come see what’s happening. Just good talk amongst friends.
Even though masks are not required feel free to wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. There will be some wearing mask so you will not be the only one.
PLEASE if you are having any of the COVID symptoms DO NOT come to the clubhouse.

** License Exam Questions – 208
Last week, the quiz topic was on HF power amplifiers. Increasing your electric bill isn’t the only way you can spend money in the hobby. Hanging a bunch of big aluminum in the air is a place where a great amount of money can disappear. The quiz topic this week is gain, the type of gain that pertains to antennas.
T9A11 What is antenna gain?
A. The additional power that is added to the transmitter power
B. The additional power that is required in the antenna when transmitting on a higher frequency
C. The increase in signal strength in a specified direction compared to a reference antenna
D. The increase in impedance on receive or transmit compared to a reference antenna
G9C09 How does the gain of two three-element, horizontally polarized Yagi antennas spaced vertically 1/2 wavelength apart typically compare to the gain of a single three-element Yagi?
A. Approximately 1.5 dB higher
B. Approximately 3 dB higher
C. Approximately 6 dB higher
E9B07 How does the total amount of radiation emitted by a directional gain antenna compare with the total amount of radiation emitted from a theoretical isotropic antenna, assuming each is driven by the same amount of power?
A. The total amount of radiation from the directional antenna is increased by the gain of the antenna
B. The total amount of radiation from the directional antenna is stronger by its front-to-back ratio
C. They are the same
D. The radiation from the isotropic antenna is 2.15 dB stronger than that from the directional antenna
