The CQ WW RTTY contest (https://cqwwrtty.com/) is September 26-27, so why not a little bit about radioteletype? Technicians apparently don’t need to know about RTTY, so a related question was selected. RTTY was invented way back in 1870 by Emile Baudot, however, that is not the RTTY we use. Donald Murray developed standardized RTTY in 1905 (35 years later!) which is what we use today, and what printed news reports on long strips paper in old timey days. You can read more at https://rtty.internet-tty.net/history.html
