License Exam Questions of the week

One question is drawn from each of the three question pools. Steve, AE8AT,
is providing these questions. Thanks Steve

Answers are at the end of this email. week #131

This quiz, like any written submission to a great publication, has a due
date. The due date for this quiz is 21 February 21, which seemed like a
great time to focus on the 15m band (21 MHz). The question pools lack
questions for the band even though Technicians have privileges there.
Turning to www.history.com/this-day-in-history for inspiration, February 21
held many historic events: the tragic assassination of Malcolm X; the start
of the Battle of the Verdun; and Nixon's trip to China. As nothing has an
obvious connection to radio, after all this, the topic this week is a random
selection of the least used sections of each question pool. At least the
Extra question is new to the 2020-2024 question pool.

T1B12 Except for some specific restrictions, what is the maximum peak
envelope power output for Technician class operators using frequencies above
30 MHz?

A. 50 watts

B. 100 watts

C. 500 watt

D. 1500 watts

G0A07 What effect does transmitter duty cycle have when evaluating RF
exposure?

A. A lower transmitter duty cycle permits greater short-term exposure levels

B. A higher transmitter duty cycle permits greater short-term exposure
levels

C. Low duty cycle transmitters are exempt from RF exposure evaluation
requirements

D. High duty cycle transmitters are exempt from RF exposure requirements

E6A05 How does DC input impedance at the gate of a field-effect transistor
compare with the DC input impedance of a bipolar transistor?

A. They are both low impedance

B. An FET has lower input impedance

C. An FET has higher input impedance

D. They are both high impedance
