[DARARepeater] Great TV Auction needs YOU

I just got a list of shifts that need filled - please replay ASAP

 

This year the Great TV Auction airs April 18-23, 2016 from 

            6 - 11 PM       Monday - Thursday 

            6 - Midnight  FRIDAY

            6 - Midnight  Saturday.

 

A little bit of background.  Company's pay big money to sponsor various
areas of the Auction, such as Pick-up & Pay, the Big Board, the Bid Takers
just to name a few.  They also provide as many of the 29 people needed for
the phones as they can.  Sometimes they cannot provide that many.  That is
where you come in. As in past years I assist in recruiting people to filling
the vacate seats.

 

I know all the people that have helped in the past have had a GREAT time and
they feed you too. Not just Pizza either.

 

Another benefit is the volunteers are invited the week after the auction to
a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner where they feed you again and any unclaimed
merchandise is sold, at very good prices.

 

We are needing Bid Takers - to be on the phones for the following shifts:

 

Tuesday, April 19th - training begins at 7:45 and you're on-air from 8:30 -
11:00 ish (still need 15)

Wednesday, April 20th - training begins at 7:45 and you're on-air from 8:30
- 11:00 ish (still need 5)

Friday, April 22nd - training begins at 5:15 and you're on-air from 6-9:00
(still need 6)

Friday, April 22nd - training begins at 8:15 and you're on-air from
9-midnight (still need 14) 

 

You only have to go through Training once this year regardless of the number
of shifts you volunteer for.

 

What to wear:  a club shirt, if you have one, or other non-statement shirt

                          A hat to shade your eyes from the studio lights 

What to take:  a sweater or light jacket (the studio can be hot, cold or
just right)

Parking: you can park in the Convention Center parking garage (directly
above the station). Channel 16 will validate your parking, or on the street
(free after 6 PM)

 

Food and drinks (non-alcoholic) are provided.

 

PLEASE let me know ASAP if you are available (which night/shift)

 

And of course, if you have Family or Friends that would enjoy helping - just
let me know.
