Area Hams,

(I apologize if you receive this message multiple times, as I am trying to hit all the local email lists at once)

I wanted to extend an invitation to Maker Fest, at the Tec^Edge facility near the Air Force Museum on Sat, March 14, where we are encouraging the maker community to demonstrate their projects (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Arduino, amateur radio, etc), get inspired to make something new, and meet with area prototyping suppliers and makerspaces.  We are still taking sign-ups for attendees with or without projects to display ( https://www.eventbrite.com/e/afrl-maker-fest-tickets-15670121756 ).

On the amateur radio side, we will have the DARA communications van operating and an introduction to/demonstration of broadband hamnet ( http://www.broadband-hamnet.org/ ).


MCM Electronics from Springboro (a very popular booth at Hamvention last year) will also be showing off Raspberry Pi projects, selling supplies, and has graciously donated door prizes.

I will be demonstrating the reception of slow scan TV images from the International Space Station (ISS) using RF samples recorded with the RTL-SDR (software-defined receiver) USB dongle.
