Thanks to everyone who stopped by last night to share their thoughts on the tools and
equipment that we should have at the clubhouse. The session went almost two hours, not
including the 'after the meeting' discussions. Special thanks to Greg, AB8RG, who took
much better notes than I could while trying to listen, think, and talk while typing stuff
into my phone.

Also, apologies to Charles as he also wanted to talk about the possible kits for the group
to build, and we never got to that discussion.

I think we had a great discussion and there were inputs from almost everyone there. That
indicates that this is an important project for DARA.

As Planning Council is currently working on the budget for this year, we need to pretty
quickly have a basics laid out for them to consider, even if we have to implement the plan
in stages. Some decisions, such as what are the basic tools needed, and how many, can be
made without a lot of discussion. Others, regarding more expensive, complex, or limited
usage items will need to take a little longer but I hope to at least be able to give
Planning Council a general plan and a rough estimate of the cost to work with. That
doesn't mean that the specific choices will have been made, but we do have to provide
enough information to allow them to see how it fits into the budget.

Finally, I am not tackling this task alone. I have asked several people to work on this
committee so that there is more collective experience contributing to the decision making
process, as well as more people to share working on the details. This group currently
includes Steve Coy, K8UD, Joe Brassard, KA8C, Ed Collins, N8NUY, Nigel Gunn, W8IFF,
Advisor Charles Kiser, KD8JZR, and myself. I also have one more person in mind to ask to
participate but have not had a chance to speak with him yet.

If any of you who were not at the meeting have any thoughts, please pass them along to one
of the committee members or to me, as K0NEB did. If it turns out to be something we
already have on our list, then you are at least as smart as we are, and if it is something
we had not considered, then you are even smarter than we are. Either way, don't be
bashful.

That's all I have to report for now, but we will do our best to communicate our progress
to all of you as we go.

Thanks again!
