I believe the name was the Podunk Amateur Radio Club. Also if I recall correctly, this December marks the 50th anniversary of the last "small size" QST dated December, 1975.

I loved Gil’s artwork and also have the book. It makes me remember fondly the smaller format QST of old. In fact, I designed my QSL card as a tribute to “The Great Gildersleeve”.
